Admission requirements
Applications to the program must fulfill all of
the following.
1. Hold a Master’s degree in psychology or a
closely related field, such as social work,
counseling, public administration or business,
with grades providing direct evidence of the
applicant's ability to successfully perform
graduate work at the doctoral level. In cases
where the applicant has not quite completed
his/her Master's degree, we can advise about
courses which can be taken to fulfill this
requirement.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to the field of
leadership studies through evidence of
significant applied experience and/or
outstanding performance in previous
graduate work.

3. Give evidence of possessing the requisite maturity and sensitivity to perform well in the role of
human service provider working with groups.
4. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
5. Have an adequate command of English. If we can find a local tutor who speaks your language, you
may be able to take a certain number of courses, and possibly workshops and supervision, in your own
language. However, some courses of the Professional School of Psychology must be taken in English,
and you will also need a good level of English to keep up with the course material.
The above are assessed through a telephone interview and a careful review of the applicant's
materials. These  include official study transcripts, an autobiographical essay (approximately 5 pages)
and two detailed reference letters.
Application procedure
Prospective students are initially encouraged to contact the Senior Tutor, Dr. Haim Weinberg, to
schedule a preliminary telephone conversation, which may be followed by a more detailed telephone
interview. During the interview, the graduate program of the Professional School of Psychology is
outlined, questions of the prospective student are answered, and the potential applicant’s goals,
academic background and experience are examined along with his or her motivation and preparation
for graduate education.
At the conclusion of the interview, if the prospective student is believed to be able to meet the
Professional School of Psychology’s entrance requirements, and is perceived in the interviewer’s best
judgment to possess the personal qualities of a practicing psychologist, he or she is given an
application package along with an explanation of the procedures to be followed.
When the application materials have been received, they are reviewed by the PSP Admissions
Committee. The applicant is usually informed of the preliminary outcome of this review in around a
week. However, we may require extra time e.g. to verify certain qualifications or to correspond with
the people who have provided references.
